The 2018-19 cruising season is drawing to a close. It is time to celebrate a successful cruising season, and the friendships that have been established, and those that have been strengthened during the past year. The Virginia Yacht Club is truly a family that shares an interest in boating and cruising. Each year the bond between members grows and flourishes. This year’s closing is
dedicated to recognizing the friendships that have been established through the club’s activities. Join us as we celebrate the 2018-19 cruising season.

Clowning Around in Sarasota

Cruise Directors, Randy and Carolyn Graham and Ron and Micki Pugh have planned an exciting visit to the picturesque city of Sarasota. Besides being a beautiful city on a bay noted for arts and culture, Sarasota was the winter home of John Ringling, managing partner of the circus bearing his name, and his wife Mable.

We will gather at Solomons Island, our traditional starting location, on Sunday, 9 August 2020 for a picnic and continue on Monday morning 10 August, with a breakfast at Zahniser’s Marina. After breakfast, we will leave for St. Michaels Marina where we will be able to begin docking at 1PM.

It is now time to say “GOODBYE” (and good riddance) to the 2019-2020 cruise season and look forward to a year that we hope will not be impacted by a worldwide pandemic. The theme for our “Closing Cruise” to Regatta Point is “Celebrating our Past and Charting our Future”.
